1. REQUEST OF PENSION ACCORDING TO THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE RETIREMENT AGE
Next year people born in the first half of 1956 with their 64 years and 183 days can apply for their pension.
The retirement age has increased by 6 months compared to the current age of 64, in fact people born in 1956 can request a pension next year or only in 2021, depending on whether they were born in the first or second part of the 1956.
Those born between January 1st and June 30th 1956 reach retirement age in the second half of 2020, while those born between July 1st and December 31st will only get it in the first half of 2021.
2. FIXING THE BOARD
The pension law allows you to set your own pension if someone:
– has reached retirement age
– so far it has provided twenty years of service
In this case the applicant can request that his pension be fixed without any payment.
The establishment of the pension, however, is not for individuals who have received a widower’s pension for at least half the time from retirement age to actual pension.
3. CONDITIONS OF PENSION IN 2020
For those who require retirement, it is important to know that there are only two requirements for obtaining a pension in 2020:
1) reaching retirement age
2) the attainment of the predetermined years of service (for the partial pension minimum 15 years, for the full pension minimum 20 years,
To make the pension request it is no longer necessary to stop the insurance coverage, which means that it is not necessary to interrupt the employment relationship.
However, since pensions and salaries are not yet available in the public sector, in practice, public servants, public officials, government officials and similar public service employees can only claim their pensions if their employment in the public sector is been interrupted in advance.
4. TRAVEL DISCOUNTS
As soon as you turn 65, a Hungarian citizen can travel for free in second class on urban and interurban transport, simply by showing a document.
Persons under the age of 65 who receive their pension or survivor’s pension are entitled to a discounted ticket 16 times a year under the „Ellátottak utazási utalványa“ which means “Traveler vouchers for the cared for”.
